A woman, aged 47 years, presented herself with chronic abdominal pain. She consulted many specialists without any specific diagnosis explaining her complaints. She visited a pain clinic and suggested she might have an anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome (ACNES). This diagnosis could be confirmed. As this case illustrates, physicians wrongly misdiagnose ACNES, leading to a doctor’s delay with insufficient treatments as a consequence.
